Marking 25 years of celebrating exceptional women in leadership, the 2020 Telstra Business Women’s Awards state finalists have been announced.

Representing the beauty and aesthetics industry is Tamara Reid, Founding Director of Beaute Industrie. A Queensland finalist for the Emerging Leader Award, Tamara has built a community of over 10,000 female business owners and provided them a supportive space to network, converse and connect.

The Telstra Business Women’s Awards application process is no mean feat! A multi-tiered application process, Tamara completed a reference-backed questionnaire on leadership, personal impact, drive and innovation in business. From here, Tamara completed further written applications before being interviewed by official Telstra Business Women’s Awards judges where she shared insights into socio-economic change, risk management, technology advancements and Beaute Industrie’s current fiscal responsibilities.

“Entering the Telstra Business Women’s Awards will show the Beaute Industrie Community, of whom are all women in business themselves, that when we step aside from our differences, proactively seek to create change and put the culture of our team and our clients first over entertaining negative, competitive thoughts, we CAN create community and thrive in doing so.” – Tamara explains.

Originally created in 2017 as a Facebook group with 15 members, Beaute Industrie fostered a culture of connection, communication, and spoke the language of leadership and growth. Shortly thereafter, the group grew to triple figures, saw a 2018 rebrand and matured into an online business and community for the professional beauty industry.

From networking events, the largest B2B podcast platform for the beauty industry, results-driven retail training to the exclusive “Netflix for the Beauty Industry” BEAUTECADEMY (launching March 2020), Tamara’s progressive and inclusive community showcases time-and-time again that Beaute Industrie is shaking up the Beauty Industry and delivering a philosophy that unites female business owners Australia-wide.

When asked why she wants to win this nationally recognised award, Tamara refers back to her community and the change makers who have relished the Beaute Industrie message.
“I want to win the Telstra Business Women’s Awards on behalf of Beaute Industrie, for every single one of the female business owners in our 10k community. Winning means the professional beauty industry is noticed, heard and valued for the employment we give to thousands of upcoming female leaders and the time, relaxed shoulders, therapeutic conversations and connections we give to our clients every single day.”

The 2020 Telstra Business Women’s Awards will announce their Queensland Finalist on March 24th.
